Clarksville, Ark. --- University of the Ozarks Theatre, in collaboration with Stages For Youth Theatre, will present "Vincent River" on Sept. 23, 24 and 25 in the university's Walton Fine Arts Center Black Box Theatre.

The play begins at 7:30 p.m. each day, and the house opens for seating at 7 p.m. The play contains adult language, descriptive violence and adult content. No children under 15 will be admitted without an adult. Tickets are $8 and there is limited seating.

The cast includes U of O alumnae and director of Stages for Youth Theatre Ginny Sain in the role of Anita. Weston Kemp, a student at Clarksville High School and a member of the professional training company associated with Stages for Youth Theatre, will portray the role of Davey. Ozarks Professor of Theatre Bruce B. Brown will direct the production.

The play, written by Philip Ridley, centers around Davey, who has seen something he can’t forget, and Anita, who has been forced to flee her home. The two have never met, but tonight their paths cross, with devastating consequences. Thrilling, heartbreaking and darkly humorous by turns, Vincent River is an upfront look at self-deception’s power to destroy.

The New York Times said, “Writer Philip Ridley is a master at dispensing information a bit at a time… the stakes and the tension remain high, keeping audience members locked in.”
