International Students

We review completed applications on a rolling basis. Once we’ve received a completed file, we typically notify applicants of the admission decision within two weeks.

We take a holistic approach when evaluating every applicant, looking at courses and grades, college GPA, test scores (if applicable), and volunteer or service activities in your school or community.

More importantly, our admission staff will work with you to ensure that Ozarks is the best place to enhance who you are and build the future you want. Feel free to contact us with further questions!

We require official high school (secondary school) or college transcripts for all international applicants. If you attended a higher education institution outside of the United States, a U.S. evaluation service must evaluate your transcripts. We recommend using The Evaluation Company (TEC) (offers discounted services) or any current member of the National Association of Credential Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc (AICE).
Our admissions team reviews your transcripts for transfer credit eligibility into a University of the Ozarks program if:

• NACES member organizations are listed here. (Freshman students)
• AICE member organizations are listed here. (Transfer students)
• You can send all the documents first by email (scanned PDF).

All international applicants must demonstrate English language proficiency unless they qualify for a waiver based on their country of citizenship. Ozarks accepts any of the following English proficiency tests:

• Duolingo English Test
  • Minimum Score: 100
  • The Duolingo English Test is an English proficiency test that can be taken online, on-demand, in under an hour for only $49. The test is taken via computer with a camera and includes a proficiency score, video interview, and writing sample which are shared with University of the Ozarks when you send your results. Certified results are available within 48 hours of the test session.
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 78 (internet)
  
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.0
  
• SAT Verbal Component with a minimum score of 450
  
• For transfer students:
  • Two semesters with grades of B or higher in English Composition courses at regionally accredited post-secondary institutions in the United States

Submit the required supporting documents based on whether you are applying with test scores or choosing test-optional admission.
