Counseling Services

U of O Counseling Services wants to help empower Ozarks students with the skills and supports to manage or overcome the challenges they may encounter in their daily lives. We want to help them thrive and succeed. We will do all we can to reduce or remove barriers and promote a climate of holistic well-being.

U of O Counseling Services utilizes a short-term individual therapy model. Working together, the Director and the student determine the number and type of sessions needed for the student based on the nature of the student’s concerns and available resources.

Initiating Services

  • Students may email for an appointment: counseling@ozarks.edu

  • Students may come in person to the Jones Learning Center (room 135) during the office hours of 8am-4:30pm to speak to the counselor or make an appointment.

  • When these methods are not possible, please contact the JLC Director for recommendations.

Services Available

Individual Counseling: Students will have access to private counseling sessions on campus. After an initial intake and planning session with the counselor, the student and the counselor will decide if meeting periodically or regularly with the on-campus counselor will be beneficial to them. Session scheduling will be discussed and established as needed between the student and the counselor. If other services are needed or warranted, options and alternatives will be discussed to attempt to address the student needs.
