Applying for financial support at Ozarks is simple and straight forward.
1. Fill out the admissions application.
Apply for admission. Your admission application serves two purposes. The information is used to determine whether or not the University of the Ozarks is a good fit for you. If we determine you are a good fit, you will be accepted and your application will be forwarded for scholarships review.
2. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The FAFSA can be completed as early as October. It no longer requires you to have your completed tax information, you can use last year’s. In the education world this is being referred to as “prior prior”…your package for next year will be based on last year’s tax information. Please know, we appreciate that last year may not be fully accurate, but it is a place to start and if the numbers don’t reflect your present reality, we will help you edit them. Ozarks’ code is 001094.
3. Finish Strong.
Whether you are in high school or attending an area community college or transferring from a large public university – finish strong. You never know when how you finish now will impact what you are eligible for in the future.
The average amount of these outside scholarships is $1,000. Some students bring as much as $10,000 with them. Local service organizations often have awards, many churches have local scholarships and most denominations have national awards. Read the criteria carefully and if you think you meet the requirements apply…millions of dollars a year goes un-awarded because no-one applies.
