Clarksville, Ark. -- Arkansas motor vehicle owners can now purchase University of the Ozarks specialty license plates for their vehicles, thanks to an effort sponsored by the university's Alumni Association.

The official University of the Ozarks license plates became available in May by the Office of Motor Vehicle, which is a part of the Arkansas Department of Finance & Administration. The license plates, which feature the university’s arch logo as well as the school’s purple and gold colors, are available at most revenue offices throughout the state.

The specialty plates cost an additional $35 over the normal plate fees. The university’s Alumni Association will receive $25 for every plate sold.

“The Ozarks Alumni Association was thrilled to sponsor the official University of the Ozarks license plate,” said Ozarks Director of Alumni Relations Brandy Cox. “We hope that alumni, family and friends from across the state will show their pride in Ozarks through this distinctive plate.”
