U of O Theatre to present “The Glass Menagerie”

Clarksville, Ark. --- The University of the Ozarks Theatre Department will present its first production of the academic year, "The Glass Menagerie," at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 12 and 13, in Seay Theatre on the Ozarks campus.

Dr. Pat Farmer will serve as the director and Professor Bruce Brown will serve as production designer and technical director of the famous Tennessee Williams play. "The Glass Menagerie" is the moving and poetic story of the Wingfield family. Caught in the economic grip of the Great Depression and struggling with her unrealized dreams, Amanda Wingfield fights to give her adult children, Tom and Laura, a better life. A play of tenderness, charm and beauty, "The Glass Menagerie" is a modern American classic.     The cast includes, Misti-Nicole Ponder, a junior from Murfreesboro, as Amanda Wingfield; Taylor Dodds, a junior from Denton, Texas, as Tom Wingfield; April James, a junior from Shreveport, La., as Laura Wingfield; and Doc Harper, a sophomore from Little Rock, as Jim O’Connor.     The crew includes, Johnny Waldrop, a junior from Mesquite, Texas, as sound designer and sound board operator; Mellena Bullock, a junior from Magazine, Ark., as graphics designer and house manager; Dustin Campbell, a junior from Plummerville, Ark. as stage manager; Erin Thompson, a sophomore from Birmingham, Ala., as light board operator; Amanda Kelley, a freshman from Sheridan, Ark., and Kevin Cheek as properties run crew; Sacha Fincher, a senior from Alma, Amanda Treat and Chad Draper as wardrobe crew; Sandy Short, a sophomore from Bonners Ferry, Idaho, as assistant house manager; Libbie Okey, a sophomore from Muskogee, Okla., as box office manager; and Rana Peters as assistant stage manager.     General admission to the play is $5.
