Russell Jones spent a decade reporting news for television outlets in Arkansas and Louisiana, winning awards from the Associated Press in both states. He has published work online and for magazines covering food, life, and digital culture. He is the co-creator and co-host of the “Geek In Review” podcast, a weekly pop culture news roundup which streamed from 2012 to 2014.
As the Instructor of Broadcast/Video/Multimedia Storytelling, Russell helps students learn the skills required for succeeding in the current media landscape. Whether they wish to follow a traditional career path, go freelance, or navigate the disruptions of emerging social networks, Russell fosters curiosity and professionalism for his students while encouraging personal passions and creativity.
In his free time, Russell enjoys camping in the Ozarks and Ouachitas, reading, and cooking.
