Clarksville, Ark.-Colby Woolverton hit three three-pointers and scored 18 points to lead Ozarks past Centenary College 80-75 Saturday.
The Eagles (6-14, 3-12 ASC) built a big first half lead behind a balanced scoring attack. Charles Palmer scored nine points off the bench, while Woolverton and Marcus Bobb had eight apiece. Five other players also scored during the first half, helping Ozarks to a 42-30 intermission lead. Centenary College (9-9, 0-0 ASC) tied the game twice in the second half but never took the lead. With 6:02 remaining in the game, Centenary tied the score, 60-60. Woolverton hit a clutch shot on Ozarks next possession, but Centenary again responded to cut the deficit to 64-62 with 4:19 left. Woolverton answered with a big three-pointer to give the Eagles momentum heading down the stretch. Centenary refused to go away as it closed the gap to 70-68 with 1:27 remaining. Ozarks responded by hitting 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the final 47 seconds of the game to secure the win.
Jermery Victor finished with 13 points, while Bobb and Joshua Clark had 12 points apiece. Palmer added 11 points.
Ozarks will host Louisiana College February 9 and Mississippi College February 11. The game against Mississippi College has been designated as Senior Day, Sports Hall of Fame Day and Homecoming.
