Clarksville, Ark.-The women's tennis team went to Kalamazoo, Michigan September 31 and played against some of the nation?s top competition in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region championship tournament, hosted by Kalamazoo College.

The competition was split into two tournaments ? the ITA Central Region Championship and the Kalamazoo Open. Both offered first-round consolation opportunities, guaranteeing all players at least two matches.

In the Kalamazoo open main draw singles bracket, Tara Richards was a first-round winner against Sally Harrison of Kalamazoo with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory. Chelsea Glasscock won a match in the consolation round.

Head Coach Shaun Wiseman said he thought they did a good job overall.

“It was good to see what we are up against,” he said. “We now have a place to set our goals and see where we need to get to. I am very proud of their performance.”
