Women’s Soccer Team Stumbles In Season-Opener

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles were unable to overcome two first half goals by LSU-Shreveport and ended the match with a 4-0 loss on Saturday afternoon at Hurie Field.

The Lady Eagles (0-0-1, 0-0-0) gave up a goal in the 7th and 15th minute and couldn’t make a comeback on a hot and humid afternoon. LSU-Shreveport (1-2-0, 0-0-0) scored the match’s first goal off of a deflected shot and then came back and scored another on a corner kick to take a 2-0 lead into halftime. ????? Ozarks gained four shots in the second half, but Lady Pilot goalkeeper Sarah McLean notched three saves to fight off any chances of an Ozarks’ rally. ????? Junior midfielder Kate Schoenhals led the team with two shots. ????? Freshman goalkeeper Jessica Falls started the match and recorded six saves. ????? Ozarks travels to Jackson, Tennessee, to face Lambuth University on September 10 and September 11.
