Clarksville, Ark.--The women's cross country team has placed two runners among the top conference finishers in the 5K following their performance at the Hendrix College Orange Crush Invitational on September 18.
Sophomore Amanda Stang owns the third-best women’s time among American Southwest Conference runners in the 5K this year when she ran a 22:47.0 on Saturday. With that finish, Stang ran the sixth fastest time at Ozarks in the 5K. The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native finished 47th in the race, which was a mixed field of NCAA Division II, III and NAIA schools. Sophomore Sydney Johnson, of Flippin, ran a 23:55.0 placing her 60th at the meet. Johnson’s time is the seventh fastest time posted in the ASC this year. On the men’s side, junior Jacob Sibley was the top finisher for the Eagles, posting a time of 31:22.0 in the 8K. His time placed him 37th among the mixed field of NCAA II, III and NAIA runners. Sibley is a native of Searcy.
