Wildcats Produce Six-Run Fifth To Earn Win

Clarksville, Ark.-Louisiana College outhit Ozarks just 15-14, but used a big six-run fifth inning to take a 12-7 wni over the Eagles in American Southwest Conference baseball play Friday.

Ozarks will conclude its series against Louisiana College this weekend with a double-header starting at 12:00 p.m. Saturday. Game one can be heard at www.kxio.nu. Prior to game two, all six Ozarks’ seniors will be honored at part of “Senior Day.”

Ozarks (14-20, 2-11 ASC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second behind a John Singler RBI single and a RBI triple from Zac Mitchell. However, Louisiana College (19-14, 9-4 ASC) took the lead for good after scoring three runs in the top of the third. The Wildcats then scored a run in the fourth and took momentum of the game in the fifth after knocking in six runs from five hits. Ozarks never recovered, but did score two runs in the sixth from a Sam Shook two-run single. The Eagles produced three runs in the bottom of the eighth, but trailed 12-4 prior to that point.

Jeffrey Works (1-5) was tagged with the loss after tossing four and two-third innings.

Shook, Singler and Mitchell all had three hits.
