Clarksville, Ark.-UT-Dallas took a 2-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks men's soccer team in American Southwest Conference play on Saturday.
UT-Dallas’ Russell Liakos scored in the 44th minute to put the Comets (5-2-0, 2-1-0) up 1-0 at halftime. After a back-and-forth second half, UT-Dallas scored in the 80th minute to all but seal the match. Both teams had scoring opportunities throughout the match, with Ozarks collecting 6 shots on goal and UT-Dallas recording 8 of their own. UT-Dallas ended the contest with 16 total shots while Ozarks finished with 12. Jared Gordon and Brandon VanCleave each collected 3 shots. Ozarks goalkeeper Brian Sarber had 6 saves. The Eagles will host Austin College in non-conference play tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
