Clarksville, Ark. ---University of the Ozarks officials are expected to welcome more than 200 new students to campus this week as part of the 2004 New Student Orientation, scheduled for August 19-22.
Registration for the Fall 2004 Semester will be held Monday, Aug. 23, and classes begin on Tuesday, Aug. 24. With the theme “Ozarks & All That Jazz,” the New Student Orientation kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 19, with students moving into residence halls, followed by a picnic at the President’s Home. On Friday, a welcoming ceremony will be held in the morning and the annual new student Matriculation Ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Munger Chapel. A dinner will follow in the Seay Student Center. The weekend of events will also include numerous information sessions and campus tours for new students and their parents to help them become oriented to university life. Other important dates for the Fall 2004 Semester include: last day to register, Aug. 31; Family Weekend, Oct. 15-16; Fall Break, Oct. 28-29; last day to drop a class, Nov. 2; Thanksgiving Holiday, Nov. 24-26; last day of regular classes, Dec. 10; and final exams, Dec. 13-16.
