University honors faculty, staff at 2016 Trustees Awards Banquet

The University of the Ozarks Board of Trustees presented its annual faculty and staff awards during the 2016 Trustees Awards Banquet, held April 22 in the Rogers Conference Center.

Among the recipients for 2016 were (pictured, from left) Donny Frost, assistant director of the physical plant; Dawn Holder, assistant professor of art; Susan Edens, assistant professor of practice of communication; Melodye Stickley, auxiliary services assistant; and Dr. Mark Scully, assistant professor of political science.

Holder and Scully each received the Richard and Katherene Bagwell Outstanding Faculty Award. Stickley was honored with the Arnold G. Sims Outstanding Support Staff Award and Frost earned the Alvin C. Broyles Outstanding Professional Staff Award. Edens was presented the 2016 Dr. Rick and Sheree Niece President’s Above and Beyond Outstanding Service Award.

Several other faculty members also received service awards, including Dr. William Clary, Kody Eakin, Dr. Salomon Itza and Lisa Thomas for 10 years; Connie Booty, Jimmy Clark, Dr. Dave Daily; Cara Flinn, Chad Floyd, Lori McBee, Debbie Pfeiffer and Mike Qualls for 15 years; Bruce Brown, Mary Doss, Dr. Sharon Gorman and EmmaLee Morrow for 20 years; and Dr. Bill Eakin, Dr. Doug Jeffries, Judy Thornton and Dr. Greta Marlow for 25 years.

The trustees also honored several employees who have announced their retirements this year, including Thornton, Jeffries, Darrell Williams, Debra Cline, Glenda Gibson, and Betty Stockton.
