University announces 2014 faculty, staff award recipients

The University of the Ozarks Board of Trustees presented its annual faculty and staff awards during the 2014 Trustees? Awards Banquet, held April 25 in the Rogers Conference Center.

Among the recipients for 2014 were (pictured, from left) Aramark Catering Manager Amanda McCartney, Assistant Professor of English Dr. Amy Oatis, Director of Information Technology Rick Otto, Associate Professor of Life Science Education Dr. Kim Van Scoy, and Jones Learning Center Testing Coordinator Tricia Meek.

Oatis and Van Scoy each received the Richard and Katherene Bagwell Outstanding Faculty Award. Meek was honored with the Arnold G. Sims Outstanding Support Staff Award and Otto earned the Alvin C. Broyles Outstanding Professional Staff Award. McCartney was presented the 2014 President’s Above and Beyond Outstanding Service Award.

Several other faculty members also received service awards, including Blaise Andrepont, Ramona Cogan, Deborah Eldridge, Hunter Jackson, Cynthia Lanphear, Jeff Scaccia and Jesse Weiss for 10 years of service; Marian Askins, Glenda Gibson, Stacy Key, Suzannah Mickan, Steve Oatis, Kerry Taylor and Vinnie Tran for 15 years; Ginger Hodge and Sally Wood for 20 years, Julia Frost, Kathy Sexton and Tom Willis for 25 years; Robert Hilton and Joe Hoing for 30 years; Darrell Williams for 35 years and Gilbert Parks for 50 years.

Parks, Hoing, Sexton and Dr. Daniel Taddie all were recognized as 2014 retirees.
