Clarksville, Ark. -- Selections from the Mid-Southern Watercolorists 37th Annual Exhibit will be on display at the University of the Ozarks' Stephens Gallery during the month of October.

The selection of 18 colorful works from the juried exhibition depicts various approaches to the watercolor medium. The exhibit features traditional landscapes, detailed still-lifes, portraits and bold abstractions. This year’s exhibit was held at the Cox Creative Center in Little Rock.

The Mid-South Watercolorists organization was founded in Little Rock in 1970 by five artists and has grown to include 250 members in 17 states. The group was founded with the goal of elevating the stature of watercolor as an important creative and permanent painting medium.

The exhibit will be available for public viewing through October 31, in the gallery, which is located in the Walton Fine Arts Center on the north side of campus. For more information on the art show, contact the university at (479) 979-1349.
