Clarksville, Ark. -- The University of the Ozarks' Music Department will team with the University Brass Choir from Arkansas Tech University for a joint organ/choir/brass concert at 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, in Munger Chapel on the U of O campus.
The public is invited to attend, and there is no cost for admission.
The University of the Ozarks Chorale, under the direction of G. Mikael Lindström; the Arkansas Tech University Brass Choir, under the direction of Gary Barrow; and Sharon Gorman, organist at U of O will be the featured performers.
The repertoire will include Bach, Praeludium in G Minor, organ solo; a set of dances by Andre Campra for brass and organ; two works for brass and choir by Giovanni Gabrieli; and two compositions for brass alone, Voluntary on Old 100th by Henry Purcell, arr. John Corley, and When I Can Read My Title Clear, arr. Dwight Gustafson. The concert will conclude with an arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Great Gate of Kiev for full brass ensemble and organ.
