Rosa A. Torres of Clarksville has been named the new director of human resources at University of the Ozarks. Her first day was May 15, 2023.
Since 2015, Torres has served as the human resources director at Munro & Company, Inc., (Clarksville Footwear) in Clarksville. She earned her SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resources Management- Certified Professional) in January 2023.
“I am grateful for the opportunity with University of the Ozarks, excited to challenge myself in this new role and ready to continue to grow in my professional career,” Torres said.
A native of Chicago, Ill., Torres earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in management from Robert Morris College in Chicago.
She worked with the Jerry R. Lipschultz & Associates Law Firm in Chicago for 2.5 years before spending the next decade with the Cook County Clerk’s Office of David Orr in Chicago. Seven of those years were in the Human Resources Department as the HR administrator/chief payroll specialist.
She and her family moved to Clarksville in 2015 when she was hired by Munro & Company, Inc.
Torres’ family includes her parents, Armando and Oralia Torres, and her two children, Daniel Cruz (20), and Yareli Cruz (12). Outside of work she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
