Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles (2-7, 2-4) trailed just 30-35 at halftime against Texas Lutheran (5-6, 5-3), but were outscored 52-41 in the second half and were defeated 87-71 in American Southwest Conference action on Monday night in Seguin, Texas.
Ozarks held the lead for the first four minutes of the game before Texas Lutheran stormed back to take the lead for good at the 14:51 mark of the first half. The Lady Eagles battled back in the second half to cut the deficit to 65-60 on two Lori Moon free throws with 5:09 remaining. However, that would be as close as Ozarks would get as the Lady Bulldogs reeled off a 16-2 run over the next four minutes. Ozarks was paced by freshman guard Karen Garcia, who came off the bench to record her first career double-double. Garcia scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Lori Moon added 14 points and Erica Eneks contributed 11 points. The Lady Eagles begin a five-game home stretch starting on Thursday when they face McMurry University. Ozarks will then host Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday, Austin College on Monday, UT-Dallas on January 13 and UT-Tyler on January 15. All games can be heard on KXIO 106.9 FM.
