Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles (5-4, 3-3) suffered from a poor shooting night against Texas Lutheran (7-3, 6-1) on Monday night and fell 75-45 to the Bulldogs.
Ozarks was unable to recover from a 7-of-27 (25.9%) shooting performance from the field in the first half and trailed 37-22 after twenty minutes of play. The Bulldogs held a 28-15 lead with 5:23 left in the first half before Brashears made his presence known in his first games as an Eagle by hitting a three-pointer at the 3:57 mark and a layup just thirty seconds later to cut the deficit to 30-22. But that would be as close as the Eagles would get for the rest of the game. Texas Lutheran held onto a double-digit lead for the entire second half. Ozarks shot a season-low 15-of-53 (28%) from the field in the game. Josh Joyner was the only Eagle in double figures with 11 points. Joyner also led the team with 4 rebounds. The Eagles begin a five-game home stretch starting on Thursday when they face McMurry University. Ozarks will then host Hardin-Simmons University on Saturday, Austin College on Monday, UT-Dallas on January 13 and UT-Tyler on January 15. All games can be heard on KXIO 106.9 FM.
