Tigers Hit Century Mark In Win

Marshall, Texas- East Texas Baptist picked up a 100-85 American Southwest Conference victory over the Eagles Thursday night.

Ozarks (5-13, 3-12 ASC) trailed 55-37 at the half and never cut it to single digits in the second half. East Texas Baptist (12-6, 9-4 ASC) hit 65 percent of their shots from the field in the first half, including 6-of-11 from the three-point line. The Tigers also hit all seven of their free throw attempts through the first twenty minutes of play. East Texas Baptist outscored Ozarks 27-19 in the final ten minutes of the half.

Ozarks shot an impressive 58 percent from the floor in the second half and got 16 points from Ronnie Dodd, but still couldn’t slow down the Tigers. East Texas Baptist held a 66-41 advantage early in the second half. Ozarks did cut the deficit to ten points with 7:10 left, but didn’t get any closer.

Dodd scored 29 points to lead Ozarks. Charles Palmer contributed 13 points.

Ozarks will travel to Centenary College for a game January 28.
