Clarksville, Ark.-Oklahoma Wesleyan turned a 4-2 game into a 7-2 win after scoring three runs in the top of the ninth Tuesday afternoon against the Eagles.

Michael Skimbo scattered three hits over five innings in his first start of the season. The freshman left-hander fanned three but was charged with three earned runs. Skimbo faced a 2-0 deficit after the first frame when Oklahoma Wesleyan (4-2) scored twice on a two-run double. Oklahoma Wesleyan added to the lead with an RBI single in the third. Ozarks (2-4) answered with a run in the bottom half of the third when Kurt Shemanske doubled in Brandon Brewer. Skimbo wouldn’t allow another run the rest of the way.

Ozarks mounted a two-out rally in the fifth to cut the deficit to 3-2. Brewer singled up the middle to set up Shemanske, who promptly ripped a double to center field to score Brewer. Oklahoma Wesleyan got the run back in the sixth to take a 4-2 lead. Neither team would score again until the ninth and that came when Oklahoma Wesleyan loaded the bases on relief pitcher Bobby Osburn. With no outs, JD Nalder stroked a single to score a pair of runs. Nalder would eventually score from third base when Andrew Murphy stole second.

Skimbo (0-1) took the loss. Osburn tossed four innings and struck out five.

Shemanske had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Tony Morales finished 2-for-4.

Ozarks will host Simpson College in a three-game set this weekend beginning with a Friday double-header starting at 12:00 p.m.
