Three-Point Shot Moves Lady Eagles To 3-0

Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles nailed 14 three-pointers in a 78-65 win over Hendrix College Monday night in Conway.

Ozarks (3-0) took a commanding 43-25 lead into halftime. The Lady Eagles took control of the first half during a six-minute stretch by reeling off a 22-5 run. April Young’s three-pointer with 7:34 left in the half gave Ozarks a 33-15 advantage. Young and Lacey Phillips each had three three-pointers in the first half and helped Ozarks hit 8-of-17 from behind the arc in the first twenty minutes of action. The Lady Eagles maintained a double-digit lead for the entire second half. Another Phillips shot from long range put Ozarks ahead 58-35 at the 12:44 mark. Ozarks built a 27-point lead twice in the second half, with the second coming on an Ashley Teague three with 8:30 left.

Hendrix falls to 1-3 overall.

Ozarks hit 14-of-31 (45%) from the three-point line in the game. Young finished with a game-high 24 points. Phillips added 20 points and Teague scored 13 points. Phillips also dished out seven assists and recorded five steals.

Ozarks will host Rhema Bible College Tuesday night.
