University of the Ozarks Homecoming 2014 will run Feb. 10-15 and Director of Campus Activities Emma Bottorff and the Student Life staff are taking advantage of Twitter and Instagram to spread the news about this year's event.
The theme for this year’s homecoming celebration is "This is Ozarks," and Bottorff is encouraging students to post pictures and comments of the week’s activities.
"We’ve set up an Instagram and Twitter pages for Ozarks Student Life," she said. "All week long, during each theme day and activity, we want students to post pics and updates to really show that, This is Ozarks."
Homecoming 2014 will also bring back the Toilet Bowl Games for the second year. The Toilet Bowl Games were an Ozarks tradition several decades ago before being discontinued. The event made a comeback in 2013.
"Each class will be competing against one another in the Toilet Bowl Games again this year," Bottorff said. "From Toilet Seat Horseshoes to the Toilet Paper Toss, each class will have a chance to win points and crown their own Toilet Bowl King and Queen."
The week’s highlights include a different theme each day of the week, including Thrift Shop Thursday and Flannel Friday; basketball games on Thursday, Feb. 13; and a pep rally on Friday, Feb. 14. Everything culminates on School Spirit Saturday, Feb. 15, with basketball games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., Senior Day celebrations, and the homecoming crowning.
