Texas-Tyler Women Handle Ozarks

Tyler, Texas-The Texas-Tyler women used a 46-19 rebound advantage to take a 81-56 win over the Lady Eagles Saturday in American Southwest Conference action.

Texas-Tyler (6-1, 4-0 ASC) hit 18-of-36 from the field in the first half to own a 45-28 lead at intermission. With the Lady Patriots holding a 24-15 advantage, Ozarks (1-6, 0-4 ASC) made a run, capped by Ashley Hipps’ three-pointer, to make the score 25-20 with 8:33 left in the half. A Taylor Farmer layup with 4:28 remaining put Ozarks within 32-26, but Texas-Tyler finished out the half with a 15-2 run. Texas-Tyler then used that momentum to maintain a 20-plus lead for the entire second half. The Lady Patriots grabbed 29 defensive rebounds to limit Ozarks’ second chance points.

Tamara Wilkett led Ozarks with 12 points and five rebounds. Farmer added 10 points.

Ozarks will host LeTourneau University December 19.
