Tyler, Texas-Texas-Tyler rattled off 19 hits en route to a 12-2 win over the Eagles in Friday night?s American Southwest Conference contest.
The Eagles (8-16, 1-6 ASC) used six pitchers in the loss and did not score until the eighth inning. Texas-Tyler (19-7, 7-4 ASC) held a 2-0 after one and increased its advantage to 6-0 after six. In the eighth, Mitchell Powers received an RBI on a groundout to break the shutout. The Patriots then scored five runs in the bottom half of the eighth to put the game out of reach.
