Texas-Tyler Earns 12-2 Win

Tyler, Texas-Texas-Tyler rattled off 19 hits en route to a 12-2 win over the Eagles in Friday night?s American Southwest Conference contest.

The Eagles (8-16, 1-6 ASC) used six pitchers in the loss and did not score until the eighth inning. Texas-Tyler (19-7, 7-4 ASC) held a 2-0 after one and increased its advantage to 6-0 after six. In the eighth, Mitchell Powers received an RBI on a groundout to break the shutout. The Patriots then scored five runs in the bottom half of the eighth to put the game out of reach. Ozarks to seven hits. Jonathan Cox finished 2-for-4. Jeffrey Works (2-3) started and went five and one-third innings to take the loss.

Ozarks will conclude its series against Texas-Tyler tomorrow in a double-header starting at 1:00 p.m.
