Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Tyler edged the Eagles 2-1 in game one Saturday and then took the nightcap 4-2 to complete an American Southwest Conference three-game weekend sweep.

In game one, Texas-Tyler (21-7, 9-4 ASC) pushed across the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single. The Patriots led 1-0 after the fifth, but Ozarks (8-18, 1-8 ASC) evened the score in the top of the sixth when Nick Brill hit a solo homer. It was his second of the season. Both hits and runs were at a premium as Ozarks collected only three hits. Tyler Erickson (3-5) threw a three-hitter in seven innings of work. Erickson issued just one walk and struck out three.

In game two, Ozarks out hit the Patriots 11-6, but stranded ten runners during the contest. Texas-Tyler led 2-0 after the fourth frame, but Ozarks scored once in the top of the fifth to pull within 2-1. The Patriots got the run back in the bottom half of the inning, but Ozarks again responded with one run in the eighth. Texas-Tyler, however, recorded a timely hit in the bottom of the eighth to gain a 4-2 advantage. Ozarks did open the top of the ninth with back-to-back walks, but couldn’t plate either runner.

Michael Prusator finished 3-for-4 for Ozarks. Chris Driedric and Tony Morales each went 2-for-4. Josh Stroffregen (0-2) took the loss after throwing four innings.

Ozarks will host LeTourneau University April 5-6 in a three-game series. Friday’s double-header can be heard on www.kxio.nu and locally on 106.9 FM.
