Texas Lutheran Men Shutout Ozarks

Clarksville, Ark.-Texas Lutheran University scored twice in the first half and then added two more goals in the second half to shutout Ozarks 4-0 in American Southwest Conference play Saturday.

The Bulldogs (5-5-1, 5-1-1 ASC) scored first half goals within 45 seconds of each other to take momentum in the match. Texas Lutheran posted 12 shots in the first half, while Ozarks (3-9-0, 2-6-0) had five shots and one corner kick. Francisco Garza had a pair of shots later in the match and Josh Duncan hit the post in the 69th minute to spark the Eagles. However, Texas Lutheran scored in the 77th minute to make an Eagles’ comeback difficult.

Ozarks goalkeeper Neil Thompson had seven saves.

Ozarks will host LeTourneau University October 14 and East Texas Baptist University October 16.
