Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Dallas won game one, two and three Friday over the University of the Ozarks softball team.

In game one, Ozarks (6-33, 0-23 ASC) held a 1-0 heading into the fourth on Thursday before rain pushed the game to Friday morning. The Comets (18-19, 7-14 ASC) took control of the contest in the fifth scoring seven runs on eight hits. Kelsey Mefford hit a two-run homer in the sixth to get Ozarks within 7-5, but the Comets responded with four runs in the seventh.

Casey Mays and Kelsey Stephens each had two hits.

Arlisa Arwood (2-8) took the loss.

In game two, Texas-Dallas got a two-run homer on the first pitch of the game and then added an insurance run in the seventh to secure a 3-1 victory.

Molly Bowman scored on a wild pitch in the second to trim the deficit to 2-1. Kelsey Mefford (3-6) scattered five hits over six and two-third innings. She did not issue a walk and fanned two in a strong relief appearance. Comets’ pitcher Alyssa Fincher tossed a two-hitter against the Lady Eagles. Ozarks began a rally in the seventh with a lead-off single, but Fincher induced a double-play to end the threat.

In game three, the Comets scored in each of the first three frames to hold 4-0 lead en route to a 12-3 win. The visitors added two more runs in the fourth before Ozarks’ bats came alive. In the bottom half of the fourth, Stephens laced a single to center field and Bowman followed with another single. Heather Roberts then drew a walk to load the bases. Kelsey Hallman delivered a two-run single and would later steal home to bring the score to 6-3. But the Comets had another big inning in the top of the fifth to put the contest out of reach.

Stephens and Hallman each collected two hits.

Mefford took the loss.

The final game of the series will start at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
