Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Dallas invoked the run-rule in a 9-1 game one win and then earned a 7-3 win in game two to complete a four-game American Southwest Conference sweep Saturday.
In game one Saturday, Texas-Dallas (19-9, 7-7 ASC) scored four runs in the first frame and held the Lady Eagles (8-18, 3-13 ASC) to just three hits through five innings. Ozarks didn’t help itself as it committed six errors in the field, including two in the fourth when Texas-Dallas scored four times. Trailing 8-0, Ozarks scored in the bottom of the fourth when Ali Mathis crossed the plate. The Comets totaled eight hits in the contest.
Amber Rollins (7-10) took the loss.
In game two, Texas-Dallas broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth to take a lead it wouldn’t relinquish. Ozarks grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the first on Kelsey Stephens’ RBI single. In the fourth, Ozarks would even the score, 2-2, when Shawnee Sorensen added a run. But Texas-Dallas generated runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to secure the game.
Tabitha Porter (1-7) took the loss in seven innings of work.
Molly Bowman and Arel Ferguson each had two hits.
Ozarks will travel to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist University April 5-6.
