Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Dallas used a 15-3 run over a five-minute stretch in the second half to fuel a 78-61 win over the Eagles Thursday in American Southwest Conference action in Richardson, Texas.
Ozarks (6-14, 3-12 ASC) held the lead only momentarily in the first half, but trailed just 27-22 with 5:43 left after Dustin Morett made a shot. A three-pointer with 32 seconds left in the half gave Texas-Dallas (15-5, 11-4 ASC) a 38-28 lead at intermission.
David Robertson completed a three-point play with 15:07 remaining in the game to trim the deficit to 48-39, but the Eagles wouldn’t score again until the 9:18 mark. By that time, Texas-Dallas had a 63-42 lead. The Eagles had trouble getting back into the game, as the Comets maintained a double-digit lead the rest of the game.
Andre Williams led Ozarks with 12 points. Robertson followed with 11 points.
Ozarks will travel to Marshall, Texas, to face East Texas Baptist University February 3.
