Texas-Dallas Edges Eagles 4-0 In ASC-Opener

Clarksville, Ark.-Texas-Dallas got a big two-run double in the eighth and Derek Dallas posted a complete game in a 4-0 win over the Eagles Friday afternoon in American Southwest Conference play.

Ozarks (8-7, 0-1 ASC) trailed 2-0 after seven innings, but the Comets (9-8, 1-0 ASC) added a two-run double in the eighth to move ahead 4-0. Ozarks had runners in scoring position in the fourth, fifth and sixth, but Texas-Dallas starter Derek Dallas worked his way out of each threat. Ozarks starter Tyler Erickson was impressive throwing 7.1 innings and striking out seven. He issued just one walk.

The Eagles matched the Comets in hits (7-7) in the game.

Sam Shook, Tony Morales and Taylor Parker each went 2-for-4 for Ozarks.

Erickson (3-1) was given the loss.

Ozarks will finish its series against Texas-Dallas tomorrow in a double-header starting at 11:00 am. The game was originally scheduled for a 12:00 pm start.
