Tech’s Early Second Half Lead Prevails

Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles dropped a 66-75 decision to Arkansas Tech University on December 30 at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.

The Eagles (4-3, 2-2) held the lead for most of the first half, but the Wonder Boys (7-4) took a 33-30 advantage into halftime. Ozarks led 26-16 with 8:29 left in the first half after a Scott McCall three-pointer. However, Tech went on a 17-4 run to end the half. After a layup by Tech’s Jeremy Johnson, the Wonder Boys took the lead for good with 16:19 left in the game. Ozarks would cut the deficit to 42-41 following a Chris Clark layup at the 13:25 mark. Ozarks shot 5-of-13 (38.4%) from the free throw line. Josh Joyner led the team with 14 points. David Hamilton had 10 points. Both had 6 rebounds to lead the team. The Eagles and Lady Eagles play at Texas Lutheran University tonight in ASC action.
