Clarksville, Ark.?The University of the Ozarks women?s tennis team used a strong singles outing to edge out Hendrix 5-4 on Wednesday, September 21 in Conway.
Ozarks won four of six singles matches and one doubles match to gain the victory. The duo of sophomore Whitney Lewis and freshman Megan Wallace won the lone doubles match for the Lady Eagles 9-7. Both players also won each of their own singles match. Lewis defeated Hendrix’s Annemarie Beck 6-1, 6-0, while Wallace beat her opponent, Kelly Lane, 6-4, 7-5.
Other singles winners for Ozarks included junior Tara Richards (3-6, 7-6, 12-10) and sophomore Macie Kelley (6-3, 6-3).
Ozarks will compete in the ITA Regionals in late September.
