Strong Rebounding Effort Propels UMHB Women

Belton, Texas-Mary Hardin-Baylor took a 38-35 lead into halftime, but then outscored the Lady Eagles 48-35 in the second half to earn a 86-70 American Southwest Conference victory Saturday.

Ozarks (4-6, 2-4 ASC) fell behind 34-23 with 2:52 left in the first half before making a strong push to close out the first twenty minutes trailing by only three points. During that stretch, Chelsea Glasscock, Tamara Wilkett and Kindra Davis combined to score 12 points. Glasscock capped the spurt with a three-pointer with five seconds left.

Wilkett closed the gap to 39-37 at the 18:48 mark of the second half before Mary Hardin-Baylor (2-7, 1-4 ASC) went on a 9-2 run. The Crusaders continued to answer the Lady Eagles as they were able to get a number of second chances. Mary Hardin-Baylor had 15 offensive rebounds in the second half and ended the final twenty minutes with a 29-18 rebound advantage. For the game, Ozarks was outrebounded 55-28.

Jordyn Ferrell led Ozarks with 14 points. Wilkett had 14 points and Glasscock finished with 10.

Ozarks will host Rhema Bible December 18 and then will not play again until January 3.
