Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles split in their final two games of the American Southwest Conference First Pitch Tournament on Saturday held in Farmer's Branch, Texas.
The Lady Eagles won their fifth straight with a 4-2 win over Texas Lutheran (4-8) in game one on Saturday, but Ozarks dropped a 10-3 decision to Hardin-Simmons (6-4) in game two.
With the score tied 2-2 after four, Poirier hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to put Ozarks ahead for good against Texas Lutheran. Danielle Dirks then recorded a sacrifice fly to score another for the final runs of the game. Wilkinson and Joslin had the other RBI in the contest. Ozarks totaled 11 hits. Thompson (3-0) received the win after going five innings. She had six strikeouts. Ottoman notched the save. Poirier now has three home runs this season. Poirier and Wilkinson each went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate.
Against Hardin-Simmons, the Lady Eagles fell behind 10-0 before scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Ozarks had four hits in the frame, with Jessica Pianalto highlighting the inning with a two-run homer. Joslin had an RBI single, but that would be all Ozarks could get. Henson took the loss.
Ozarks will host UT-Dallas on March 12.
