The Department of Education announced a further delay to release batches of FAFSA information (ISIRs) to schools until the first half of March.
Despite this, Ozarks is aiming to roll out financial aid packages within two weeks of receiving FAFSA information.

Softball Team Opens Classic With Losses

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks softball team took a pair of losses in the Wyndham Las Colinas Classic Friday in Irving, Texas.

Cornell College (1-0) came back from an early deficit to upend Ozarks 7-4 and then the Lady Eagles suffered a 8-6 setback in their second game against Nebraska Wesleyan (1-1).

Against Cornell, Ozarks (0-4) built a 3-2 lead after two innings behind RBI from Ali Mathis and Sarah Otteman in the second. Cornell took the lead in the fourth when it scored three runs on four hits. Ozarks responded with a run in the fifth on a Casey Mays RBI. Cornell secured the win with a two-run sixth inning.

Ozarks collected seven hits, all coming from different players.

Arlisa Arwood (0-1) took the loss.

In game two against Nebraska Wesleyan (1-1), Ozarks faced a 7-0 deficit after two and one-third innings.

The Lady Eagles then mounted a comeback, scoring two runs in the third, one in the fourth and fifth innings, and two more in the sixth. In the third, Kelsey Stephens recorded a two-run single. Molly Bowman and Stephens had RBI in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively. In the sixth, Ali Mathis had a two-out double to score Otteman. Stephens then stayed hot, knocking in Mathis to trim the deficit to 8-7. But Nebraska Wesleyan got an insurance run in the seventh.

Stephens went 4-for-4 with 4 RBI.

Tabitha Porter (0-2) took the loss.

Ozarks will take on University of Dallas and Nebraska Wesleyan Saturday.
