Clarksville, Ark.-The Lady Eagles suffered a pair of losses to open the American Southwest Conference First Pitch Tournament Friday in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Ozarks (1-5) lost the opening game 9-1 against Concordia University Texas and then took a 3-0 setback in game two against Texas Lutheran University (3-6).
The Lady Eagles’ offense struggled in both games as they collected a combined two hits. In game two, Kelsey Mefford broke up a no-hitter when she recorded a single with two outs in Ozarks’ final at-bat. Kaci Foster (0-2) took the loss. She went five and two-third innings.
Against Concordia, Ozarks got down early and couldn’t recover. Concordia held a 6-0 lead after the first and then held the Lady Eagles to just one hit. Stephany Henson received the loss.
Ozarks will play Hardin-Simmons University and Howard Payne University tomorrow.
