Softball Team Earns Two-Game Sweep

Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks softball team gained a pair of wins over Eureka College on Thursday afternoon in non-conference play.

<#IMAGE:1#>Ozarks starter Andrea Mitchell (1-3) held the Lady Red Devils (2-4) to just one run in a 9-1 win in game one. Mitchell struck out three in five innings of work. Ozarks (2-4, 0-0) took advantage of seven Eureka errors, and scored four in the bottom of the second. The Lady Eagles had two hits in the inning, and Brooke Grice and Danielle Dirks each collected RBI. Dirks picked up another RBI in the fourth and Jeanne Randall added her own in the same inning to give Ozarks a comfortable 5-0 lead. Meanwhile, Mitchell had her way with the Lady Red Devils, limiting the visitors to five hits. Jodie Clark and Randall paced Ozarks with two hits. Ozarks earned a 7-6 victory in game two. Ozarks pitcher Stephany Henson (1-1) collected her first win at the college level. Ozarks will host Piedmont College on March 9 in a double-header beginning at 2:00 p.m.
