Clarksville, Ark-The Lady Eagles softball team wrapped up its fall season with a rain-shortened day-long tournament against Hendrix College, Lyon College, and Ouachita Baptist University in Conway October 4.
“I think the fall is a good chance to see the incoming freshman particularly in game situations,” said Caroscio. “It’s also a chance to look at the returners and see how they react to the new competition.”
Although the spring season is still a few months away, the fall season can be used as a projection for the spring.
“The fall lets us (coaching staff) see how the team dynamics begin to develop amongst the players,” said Caroscio. “I look to see how the players communicate with one another, especially between the freshmen and returners.”
The Lady Eagles, who went 14-26 last season, are returning 10 players from last year’s squad and have added 15 freshmen going into the 2009 season. They open up play March 3rd against Hendrix College in Conway, Ark.
