Six Basketball Players Named To ASC All-Academic Team

Clarksville, Ark.-Six University of the Ozarks student-athletes have been recognized by the American Southwest Conference as Academic All-Conference award recipients in men's and women's basketball for the 2005-06 season, announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The women’s basketball team placed five athletes on the team: junior Physical Education major Mandi Carter from Clarksville; sophomore Business Administration major Olivia Fisher from Mountain Home; senior Marketing major Lori Moon from Rogers; junior Early Childhood Education major Lindsey Nietert from Branch; and junior Biology major Jeanne Randall from Bryant. David Hamilton, a senior Political Science major from Mulberry, represented the men’s basketball team. To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have lettered during 2005-2006 basketball season, be in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a career grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or better.
