Clarksville, Ark.-Simpson College scored a run in the top of the ninth that proved to be the game-winner as the Storm edged Ozarks 5-4 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon in Clarksville.

Holding a 4-3 lead, Dave Johnson knocked in Colton Calvert in the ninth to add an insurance run heading into the bottom half of the inning. Ozarks did respond by loading the bases with two outs, but the Eagles (2-7) could only manufacture one run, which came when Freddy Prince was hit by a pitch.
Mitchell Powers tied the game 1-1 in the third with an RBI single. Trailing 2-1, Powers led off the bottom of the sixth with a solo home run. Simpson (3-0) scored two runs in the seventh before the Eagles produced a run in the eighth on an Ian Bryan bases loaded walk.

Ozarks starter Sam Brownwood was again solid in his third outing of the season. The freshman right-hander went five and one-third innings and struck out four. He was charged with just one earned run.

Bo Thomas (0-2) took the loss for Ozarks.

Powers finished 3-for-4 with two RBI. Prince was 2-for-4.

The Eagles will travel to Batesville to face Lyon College February 22.
