Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior center Christie Shuffield (Dover, Ark.) was named American Southwest Conference Player of the Week following her performance in two recent road games.
Shuffield, 6-1, averaged 18.0 points, 11 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 blocks to lead the Lady Eagles to a split in games against Sul Ross State and Howard Payne University. She had her best game of the season in an 80-73 overtime win over HPU, finishing with 25 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and four assists. Shuffield was named ASC Preseason Player of the Year earlier this season and is three-time all-conference selection. Shuffield is also Ozarks’ top female student-athlete as a mathematics major. She is a 1998 graduate of Dover High School.
