Shinn Leads Ozarks To Victory

Clarksville, Ark.-Kristyn Shinn scored a goal and assisted on another to pace Ozarks to a 2-0 win over McMurry University Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

After a scoreless first half, Shinn came out early in the second half and put one in the back of the net in the 48th minute. Shinn got past her defender at midfield and then beat McMurry’s goalkeeper on a break-away. Taylor Crutchfield was credited with the assist. Ozarks added another goal when Kaitlyn Williams hit one from 35 yards out in the upper 90. Shinn received the assist.

Ozarks (3-8-0, 2-3-0) dominated the shots column, owning a 15-3 advantage in the match. Shinn and Emalee Pearson each had four shots apiece.

Morgan O’Neil started in goal and played 69 minutes. She finished with two saves. Lori Langman finished in goal.

The Lady Eagles will travel to Brownwood, Texas, to face Howard Payne University October 9 and then on to Belton, Texas, to face Mary Hardin-Baylor October 10.
