Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks freshman left fielder Shannon Rainbolt was named American Southwest Conference East Division Hitter of the Week after leading the Lady Eagles to a perfect 4-0 record and the Hendrix Jamboree championship.
Rainbolt, a native of Viliona, hit .727 (8-for-11) over four games and had five runs batted in. Rainbolt, who was named to the all-tournament team, also stole two bases and scored nine runs in the four game span. Rainbolt went 3-for-4 with four RBI in a 17-0 rout of Hendrix on Sunday. Rainbolt currently leads the Lady Eagles in hits (16), runs (17), triples (3) and is third on the team in batting average (.571). The Lady Eagles are 8-0 overall. Rainbolt is a 2001 graduate of Vilonia High School where she was an all-conference performer. She is the daughter of Robert and Laura Rainbolt.
