Clarksville, Ark.-East Texas Baptist University pulled away from the Eagles in the second half to earn a 79-64 victory in American Southwest Conference play on Thursday night in Marshall, Texas.

Ozarks (5-8, 4-5) led at the half 31-30 thanks to a 6-0 run after a pair of layups and two free throws by Jeremy Clark and Chris Clark in the final 2:30 of the half. After battling back-and-forth in the first ten minutes of the second half, Ozarks got within 46-45 at the 11:37 mark when Chris Williams completed a three-point play. However, the Tigers (4-12, 4-7) quickly raced out to a 54-45 lead over the next two minutes. East Texas Baptist then maintained the lead for good, but the Eagles did cut the deficit to 67-60 when Chris Clark hit a three-pointer with 5:16 remaining. From that point, Ozarks struggled from the floor, hitting only one more field goal in the contest. Chris Clark came off the bench to lead Ozarks with 14 points, including a 3-of-5 performance from the field. Habeeb Kareem scored 12 points and Blake Belford added 10 points. Belford went 3-of-5 from the three-point line. Ozarks will travel to Longview, Texas, to face LeTourneau University on January 13.
