Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks sophomore forward Scott Janders was named the American Southwest Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound Keller, Texas, product scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner against Howard Payne University October 9, to lead Ozarks to a 2-0-0 record over the weekend. Against Howard Payne, Janders scored on a header in the 50th minute to secure a 2-1 win. Janders then responded Saturday with a goal from 25 yards out to help upset nationally-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor 2-0.

Janders, who has scored in five straight matches, ranks third in the conference in goals (7) and game-winning goals (3). He is fourth in points (15). Janders has 16 shots this season.

He is a graduate of Central High School where he was named the district Offensive MVP and earned a spot on the All-District First Team as a senior.

Ozarks (8-4-0, 4-3-0) will host Texas Lutheran University October 15 and Schreiner University October 17.
