Clarksville, Ark.-U of O freshman goalkeeper Chris Schultz was named American Southwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to two conference wins.
Schultz, a native of Coppell, Texas, earned the honor when he went the distance in a 2-0 win over Mississippi College, a game which Ozarks played with 10 players for the final 84 minutes. Schutlz then recorded 72 scoreless minutes between the posts against Louisiana College. He recorded a combined 11 saves in the two wins. “Chris has done a great job for us,” said head coach Dave De Hart. “I’m very pleased and happy with his progress in the goal.” Ozarks improved its record to 2-0 in the ASC and 5-0 overall. Schultz is a 2001 graduate of Coppell High School where he earned first team all-district and all-region honors last season.
