Schreiner Men Top Eagles

Kerrville, Texas-Schreiner University outscored the Eagles 46-37 in the second half to secure a 88-78 win Saturday in American Southwest Conference play.

Schreiner (4-4, 3-2 ASC) held a narrow 42-41 lead at halftime. Bryton Flint paced Ozarks (2-6, 0-6 ASC) with 10 first half points. After trailing 22-14, Flint hit a jumper to get Ozarks within 22-20 with 9:52 left in the half. The Eagles would take the lead with less than three minutes left, but Schreiner regained the lead with a three-pointer in the closing minute.

Ozarks battled with the Mountaineers through the first ten minutes of the second half until Schreiner eventually established a double-digit lead at the nine minute mark. Schreiner held a 74-59 advantage with 7:51 remaining, but Ozarks cut it to eight points a few minutes later. The Mountaineers then gained control of the game and went on to a 10-point win.

Flint recorded a double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds) for Ozarks. Marcus Bobb finished with 17 points, and David Robertson and Andrew Cummings scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Ozarks will host UT Dallas December 16 at 3:00 p.m.
